This webpage was created by a group of Environmental Technology students at SAIT Polytechnic, with the intention of providing a quick and easy guide to understanding sustainable and environmentally friendly  food labels. It is intended to provide the public with information on optional sustainable food choices, and to empower the individual with the knowledge to make choices that will positively impact themselves and the global community. Ensuring that labeling practices enforce and monitor stringent compliance with regulations, as well as the fine print of government regulations and acts, requires time and research. If you have ever briefly wondered the difference between free run and free range eggs, or have struggled with the dilemma of whether purchasing antibiotic free meat is worth the price difference, this easy to follow guide should offer some helpful direction.
